The MSR(r) MIOX(tm) purifier is an easy and reliable device for purifying large volumes of water. Untreated water and salt are combined to create a brine solution. A small charge of electricity is passed through the saltwater and creates a chemical reaction. This produced a small and powerful dose of mixed oxidants (MIOX) that is poured into untreated water to kill the bugs.
